This abstract landscape oil painting describes a mythical and surreal scene. We are led into the painting on canvas by a winding white river. As we follow the river its source in the distance can be found, and the landscape unfolds before us. The rocky forms of the mountains are otherworldly and heavily stylized, and over them the cascading water flows. The torrents flow down the waterfalls and meet in the form of a large wave that washes over the landscape. Color is used to give hope to the scene and to punctuate areas of detail such as the lone tree, the black rocks and the cliff tops. The bright green tree gives a sense of scale and perspective that can then be applied to the rest of the scene. The composition uses the direction of the river and water to lead and focus attention around the canvas. The texture on the rocks, cliff tops and tree helps to further distinguish them from the raging white flow of the surrounding water.
